When I arrived at church on this amazingly beautiful
morning, I found Yuki (above left photos) and Taka (above
right) hard at work coloring eggs. They had a pretty serious
system going, so I felt like I was intruding -- but I had to
take a few photos. Taka, who was wordless the entire time I
was in the room, nonetheless went into his
"comedian" mode when I took a shot of him and his
first egg...
|

Soon enough the kids arrived, and the coloring began in
earnest. The cutie on the left is Renata's oldest daughter (Renata
got baptized today)... Next is Tabito and Mrs. Nakano... Then
there's Miki-chan (in purple) making serious work of her egg
coloring.
|

I had to include this photo -- there's a modern artist up
in da house!
|

To be honest, it seemed to me that everyone was so serious
with the designing of their eggs that precious few were
actually getting FINISHED. However, I stepped out of the room
for about 5 minutes, and when I returned, they had the basket
half full!
|

Here's Renata's other daughter, and she is 100%
Cute-As-Can-Be. These photos can't capture it -- she literally
has "cute" radiating from those eyes... |

Our angel, Kian... in pink, and then having fun with
Nakano-san. |
The congregation during Easter Worship...
|

We had a total of three people getting baptized today, two of
them from our International Fellowship -- this photo (left to
right) has Fernando-san (from Sri Lanka), Pastor Garcia,
Renata (from Brazil) and Pastor Satoh.
|

After the service we had a HUGE feast -- but as things were
getting prepared (it took a long time to get things ready), I got this shot of
Tabito... Nobu felt obliged to stick an egg in there for good
measure. |

Those of us anxious to get busy on that feast were so thankful
that Pastor Satoh tarried nary a moment -- he was the FIRST
ONE to sit. |

THIS is the reason for my excitement about our Easter dinner.
I humbly suggest that I've rarely seen a more beautiful couple
of turkeys. Fortunately, Orlando (Pastor Garcia) knew what to
do when it came to wielding that carving knife. |
Still waiting for lunch to get started, I was able to
catch this shot with the girls -- from left to right, it's
Renata's oldest daughter, then Fumika, then Miki-chan, then
me. |

Satoh and Manuel were chatting before lunch, and I tried
to take a quick snapshot of them. However, they saw me taking
their photo and immediately entered "professional
posing" mode -- here they are "congratulating" each other
on some imaginary accomplishments... |

I love this photo of Taka -- it looks like he is into some
heavy prayer at the altar. In fact, he's just leaning over a
huge plate of vittles. |

Here's Manuel with his NEW guitar. This was his last day
at church before he leaves Japan for good to return to
Switzerland. I already miss him. |

Since it was his last day, here are Pastors Satoh and
Garcia giving Manuel a "parting gift" -- and a laugh... |

Since Manuel bought a brand new guitar, he gave his old one to
Orlando. But Orlando insisted they conduct an official
"passing of the arms" as the guitar was transferred
to him. We really laughed about that... |

And by the way, have no fear -- we put a SERIOUS hurt on
those poor turkeys...
