Shinjuku
5 November 2004
|

Took a trip with a missionary I met -- named Rick Conrad --
down to Shinjuku.
It was a rather uneventful
trip, but I did get a few shots that I like.
THIS photo is of the famous
"L-O-V-E" sculpture -- it's also on the Cornelius
"Fantasma" CD, for those TWO people who know who
Cornelius is.
|

Nice shot of the so-called "Twin Towers" of downtown
Tokyo -- it's the headquarters of the Tokyo Metropolitan
Gubment. And it is MONSTROUS. This photo can't convey the
immensity of this structure, actually.
|

About 8 minutes after the first shot of the towers above,
the light in the sky had changed completely, it was so
cool!!
Unfortunately, standing where
I was, there's nothing in this spot to shoot except to just
look up and shoot the towers again. So here you go -- the
towers (again) -- but this time in the weird blue light of
dusk.
|
You can (and SHOULD) go up the towers to the observation
decks -- there's one in each tower, and I think they alternate
days being open.
This photo was looking out
over Tokyo towards the south-western hills at the very last
touch of light. Any darker and I surely wouldn't have been
able to hand-hold it...
